New Forest Brass is a dedicated group of brass players of all ages drawn from all walks of life.
We rehearse in Hounsdown, Totton, near Southampton. We are a contesting brass band who are in the second section of the West of England region.
New players are always welcome to come along, although we would be particularly interested in filling the positions shown as vacant. If you would like to join us, then please contact us or come to a rehearsal.
We also have a training band for beginner brass players. All players of any age and any standard are welcome to come and learn how to play a brass instrument and to enjoy playing in the company of others. More information can be found on our training band page!
Success at Wessex contest
26 November 2022 We won the prize for best second section band at the Wessex Winter Contest in Bournemouth. We played Viking Age by Thierry Deleruyelle. Well done to Ian and band for a good performance. Now we will wrap up warm for carolling season before getting to work on a challenging test piece for the West of England regional contest in March.

NFB Platinum Jubilee celebrations
2 June 2022 The band had a busy day playing for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations today. Both main and training bands played for Ashurst's Jubilee event in the afternoon at St Joseph's, before the main band entertained the crowds and the cornet section played the fanfare specially written for the occasion of the Jubilee beacon being lit at dusk at Lepe Country Park. The weather was fantastic and we hope everyone who heard us enjoyed our performances.
