New Forest Brass Community Band

New Forest Brass Community Band meets at Hounsdown School on Tuesdays from 6.30-7.30pm. The Community band, previously known as New Forest Brass Training Band, was formed in 2012 with the aim of encouraging more people to take up brass playing as a hobby. In 2023, the band was renamed as New Forest Brass Community Band to reflect the continued growth and development of the band.

The Community Band provides a friendly environment for brass and percussion players of any standard to play in a British style brass band and enjoy making music with others (meanwhile New Forest Brass's contesting band caters for more advanced players while New Forest Brass Training Ensemble provides a small group setting for beginner brass players to learn their instrument and begin to play with others).

Any age and standard of player is welcome, including those who do not currently have an instrument. The band has instruments (including cornet, tenor horn, flugelhorn, baritone, euphonium, trombone and Eb bass) available for loan to members, so that those who may not be able to afford an instrument are able to enjoy the social and mental health benefits of making music with others.

If you are interested in finding out more about the community band or would like to come along to one of our rehearsals to see what we do, then please contact us via the email address below.
