Remembering Colin Partridge

It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of one of our own.

Colin, who was a member of the Community Band, sadly passed away on Monday surrounded by his family.

His band family are all very sad to hear this news and we want to extend our condolences to his wife, family and friends.

Colin joined the Training band around 2016, having bought himself a cornet years ago, he always wanted to learn to play.

He would work hard to practise his parts and would never hesitate to ask a question or ask for help.

Even when he became unwell and was unable to play, he would come to rehearsals with his folder of music and follow his part.

Always happy to help and offer a friendly word or joke to those that needed it, he always seemed to have a smile on his face.

Colin was a keen supporter of the band, contributing his time and effort.

Particularly behind the scenes, he built storage boxes for our concert music stands, a Colin patented design, at no cost to the band as these were materials he had “just lying around” at home!

He loved coming to rehearsals and participating in concerts.

He was a very much loved and valued member of the band, he will be missed.

Rest in Peace Colin x
