It is with great sadness we announce the passing of another much loved member of our band family, Reg Parkes.
Reg was a member of New Forest Brass for many years, joining the band in the 80s. He previously played with Solent Brass and started out his brass career in the Salvation Army Band.
As our principal euphonium, he was part of the band that went on tour to France, helped us win the 3rd section National finals in 1988 and then helped us achieve similar success in 2011 when we came 2nd in the 4th section.
He supported the band through the highs and the lows and was an integral part of supporting our new players when we started the training band in 2012.
A man that always had a smile and a cheerful word to say, who was passionate about music making.
We are sending all the love to his family at this difficult time and to all those who knew him.
