A good performance marred by some balance and intonation problems.

Alan Morrison:

A little heavy basses but good troms and cornets. Horns rather raw and uneven but it builds well. Good trom chords and smooth cornet lines if not well tuned. Uneven link to E and percussion very loose through F. H was well sustained by untuneful and the dim. expected more. Good cornet link.

Well shaped New World quote if not settled in tuning. Horn/Flug tuning not precise. The suspensions don't always work in balance. K mostly confident solo lines - horn a little unsteady. A good build to L and this has maestoso and is stately. M works well and the stringendo is effective. Just a little insecure tuning occasionally. Cornet unsure in 2nd statement.

O controlled to begin and the layers build well. Perc could be more discreet but it drives well and dynamic contrasts were found. Horn tuning was not secure but this had control and you paced the build to the end so well generating the maximum excitement.

Much to commend with some really effective sections not always consistently maintained though.
