Adjudicator's Remarks

Order of play: 1, Placing: 2nd

Chris King:

Slaidburn:
A full sound. Watch that the dotted quaver - semiquaver rhythm is accurate. Aim for a softer 'p' another time. Well done.

Eventide:
Good tone - watch intonation on C's in cornets. Thank you for not breathing at the end of phrases.

Nellie!:
A good choice of solo. Well played Mel. Soloist is not always heard through the band texture. Mel plays the solo very well.

Indiana Jones:
I hear detail in articulation. Quieter dynamics could be softer. A good piece for the band.

Run:
A good overall sound. The melody is always heard. Good quavers at F. Well done horns. Try a longer last note next time you play this.

42nd Street:
The swing style is well captured. Good drums! Again, make more of the dynamics. It could be tighter cf tutti rhythms. Good ending and pretty much in tune too.

A well put together programme. Experiment with making more of a show of the performance. Some standing up for the jazzy pieces? Do smile as well - it's fun! Overall very well done! Uniform looks good too.
